Different skin types are suited best by different colors of make up. Many a times certain make up looks great on some but does not suit others. However some particular colors look great on most people. For example, pink, blues, silvers, mauves look great on cool-toned skins while bronze, caramel, gold, apricot look great on darker complexions.

When using a liquid bronzer, it is best to apply it with fingers. Rub fingers to even out the color and then apply to the apples of your cheeks and blend with circular motions. Work towards the hairline. The remaining color should be added to the nose, forehead and brow bones to balance the tone of your face.

For makeup to preserving the natural look, the colors you use must match the shades of your skin tone. If you use concealer, should be yellow in tone, as this will give adequate coverage but not add excessive color, thus keeping the look natural. Your foundation or tinted moisturizer should not be obvious when applied to your skin either.

When using blusher and eye shadow, the best natural look for blusher is to choose one that matches the color of the complexion after some physical exertion. Eye shadow shades can be more earthy tones, warm colors like brown, gold or plum.

For beautiful lips and great lipstick:
Apply a lip pencil. Start on your natural lip line on the top lip and work outwards in short, light strokes. Begin on the bottom lip in the centre of the mouth. Next apply the lipstick inside the lip line either directly from the lipstick or with a lip brush

When selecting a lip liner, choose for one that is the same sort of shade as the lipstick, at least one that is not a lighter shade, as this then would look strange. Ensure the lips are nice and moist first, and then ensure the pencil is sharp to get a good line. Draw along the lips, starting at the middle and work out to the edges, both sides from the middle each time, this helps get the best shape and smoothest line. Be sure to apply the lip liner before lipstick!

Since work make up is conservative, if you have to get ready quick for a party after work, pep your look by applying a tinted moisturizer or foundation. Add to this a tint of mascara and some gloss before work. After work, cover all blemishes with a concealer. Remember, do not rub it, only pat it. End with smoky eyes.

    Get smoky eyes by:

    - Apply eyeliner on both top and bottom lashed. Make sure you smudge it.
    - Apply eye shadow primer and a shimmery shadow.

Smoky eyes with shimmery blush to cheeks, little powder and a light lipstick are perfect for an evening night out.

Primers are a great must this season for the face and the eyes. Use it before foundation or eye shadow. This would allow make up to stay in place for much longer. Primers also help fill in any skin imperfections.

For the holiday season, get the classic look that includes smoky and shimmery eyes along with light lips or deep red lips with light eyes. Shimmer is totally in this season just like last year. However be careful, do not go overboard with the shimmer.

Keep your office look light. Let your natural beauty shine through. Just keep it simple by applying eye-liner and natural lip shades. Avoid blushers and too much of eye shadow.
