While washing mint leaves add baking soda in the washing water this will help to keep its freshness for a long period of time.

After grating the vegetables or preparing any type of juices, they should be consumed within an hour or so. If the vegetables are required to be kept for a longer period, then the juice of the lime should be squeezed in to slow down the process of oxidization and then preserved in the refrigerator.

Hard and soft portions of vegetables can be recycled to make clear soup. Recycle vegetable peels, soft centre portions such as those of gourds or pumpkins, and hard portions such as those near the root of cauliflower, cabbge and carrots. Simmer them in water, and you have a stock ready with you.
